Dark_Black Release

You’ve waited long enough… OneMoreRevision is proud to release the “Dark_Black” theme for Wordpress. The theme has been tested on WordPress 2.1.3 with Firefox and Safari, and works well with IE6/7 too. It validates as XHTML 1.0 Strict and CSS 2.0, and supports the following plugins:

- flickrRSS - Gravatar - Ultimate Tag Warrior - WP-PageNavi - Falbum*

*Falbum was not supported in the initial release, so I added falbum.php support into the mix, as well as including a style sheet for inclusion.

I took the advice of milo317 and limited the number of posts on the frontpage to three posts. Do do this on your own wordpress site, read this article here. I also added a “Search” label into the search form at the top right of the page, with added code to show a default “search” label that will disappear once the user clicks on the input area, and also that it will reappear if the user clicks somewhere else. Thanks to Etham for that suggestion.

Download the “Dark_Black” theme here (v1.3) or see the (demo)

***UPDATE*** ——–> I finally got around to creating the Dark_Black Customization Kit, and you can download it from here.

This is the first WP work I’ll be doing and I’m working with this beautiful theme (thanks!)…

I do not know how to get the “Falbum” to work on the site I’m setting up. Any help will be appreciated. You can also send me an email.

How do I get the “gravatars” working?

When I go to www.gravatars.com it does not seem to be working.
    I’ve read everything I can find - but I don’t get it.

    Any anyone advise?

    Thanks in advance.

Hey There These mods of the Dark theme look really great though for the Dark_black theme I would make the grey font colors lighter I have to squint a bit to read.

@texxor did you download the falbum plugin? I only included the stylesheet and layout page “falbum.php” page inside the theme: you will still need to download the plugin and install it. Then follow the directions in the fablum_css folder readme.

@Arpit: Yeah, thats what I was thinking. it is kinda hard to see on different monitors, as here on my laptop it looks crisp: at my workstation it is pretty hard to read. I will play with it and see what you guys think.

    thanks!

@D. Bowen: Thanks for the help!. I got the plugin and followed the installation instructions. However I still face two issues:
    1. How to link to the album from the “photos” navigation link: “http://www.hemi8.com/wp-content/plugins/falbum/wp/album.php”:url
    2. The album page does not display any pictures, just some database errors as you can see from above link.

I’d appreciate any help with these issues please.

Hey love the work you did for this theme man. I have 2 questions for you.

    1. you said you had a falbum stylesheet for the theme? I cant seem to find it. I noticed that my pictures page does not deplay the red colors as yours does.

    2. you have a link to Archives at the top of the page. Im curious as to how to set something like that up.

disregard the question about falbum. it was staring me in the face.

I am having a problme with UTW you may be able to assit me in tho. IT seems that if you click on a tag it will display the first 3 posts that use that tag but does not display a navigation bar underneath to get to the other posts that use that tag.

Any idea what that could be and how i can fix it?

Hey there! I want to ask, if I may make a German-Port of your theme and release it under the same name on my Website. Of course there will be a link to this page. I would be glad when you accept my request.

@Jan Winkelmann: You are more than welcome to make a German port of this theme :) Just make sure to keep the credits/or add to them, and a link back would be nice :)..

Anyways, glad you like the theme and good luck with your port! If there is anything I can do to assist, just let me know!

How does the “My Flickr” area update/work, I’m using FlickrRSS mod you suggested but its only shows the one photo I uploaded a while ago and the recent ones I uploaded into a set wont appear to show up.

I have made sure its selected ‘user’ and 9 square images and my ID tag is filled in.

Nothing else is filled out, it works fine for the “public” set but not my own.

Any ideas or is it a delay between flickr updating and the RSS mod?

I having problem with the falbum. I install the dark_black theme, then install the falbum plugin. I overwrite the falbum css file with the dark_black theme 1.

Then I activate the plguin, then set the options to get the auth. However, I still cant see the “My flickr” at the bottom of the blog. no tumbnail and so on. my blog site is http://ryanzc.789mb.com/blog/

is there anything i done wrong? or do i have to modify the falbum.php in the dark_black theme folder?

    @ Zen:

You actually need to make sure you have 2 flickr plugins installed: Falbum and FlickRss; The FlikRss is the one that shows up at the bottom of the pages.

    Hope that helps. :)
